Why this site exists
Finding an appliance repair company should not feel like a gamble. In a city the size of Austin, there are many independent technicians and many search results, but it is hard to tell who covers your ZIP code, works on your brand and can come soon. We exist to shorten that search: you describe the problem once, and we connect you with a technician who services your part of town.
What we are, precisely
Austin ApplianceFix is a referral service. We do not employ technicians, we do not repair appliances, and we do not set repair prices. The technicians we connect you with are independent businesses. Each sets its own fees, availability, warranty and insurance. If you want to know what a particular technician holds in the way of licenses or manufacturer authorization, ask them. We do not describe their credentials as ours and we do not publish credentials we cannot verify.
Commitments we make
- We say what we are. A referral service, not a repair company.
- No invented proof. No fake reviews, no made-up counts of repairs, no borrowed logos.
- Accurate guidance. We explain what you can check safely, and we say plainly when a job is for a professional.
- Your choice. You are never obliged to hire a technician we refer.
- Respect for your data. We use your details to handle your request. See how we handle your data.
Editorial policy: how these guides are made
Who writes them. Austin ApplianceFix publishes every guide on this site. We draft them with AI writing tools, then check the steps and figures against the manufacturer support pages, government agencies and City of Austin pages linked at the bottom of each guide. No guide is signed by a named technician, and none carries a credential we cannot show.
How they are reviewed.
- Sources first. A brand-specific step, a local rule or a number goes in only when we can point to a source. When we could not confirm something, we left it out or said so.
- Safety limits. Advice involving gas, high voltage or refrigerant stays within what manufacturers and agencies tell homeowners to do themselves. Everything else is marked as a job for a qualified professional.
- Figures that change. Items such as water hardness, City programs and cost ranges are re-checked when a page is updated, and each states where it came from.
Dates and corrections. Every guide shows a last-updated date, which changes when the substance changes. Our last full review was October 31, 2026. If you find an error, tell us on the contact page and we will correct it and update the date.
How we choose technicians
This is what we do today, and only that.
- Coverage. The technician serves your ZIP code.
- Appliance type. The technician works on the kind of appliance you have.
- Independence. Each is a separate business that sets its own prices, schedules and warranty.
We do not claim licenses, insurance, background checks, reviews, years in business or manufacturer authorization on a technician’s behalf. If those matter to you, ask the technician to show them before work begins. Useful questions: What is your diagnostic fee, and is it applied to the repair? Can I have a written estimate with parts and labor separate? What is the warranty on the repair? Do you carry liability insurance?
Where we work
The independent technicians we work with cover seven regions of Austin. See service areas for the ZIP codes, or the process for what happens after you ask.
Questions people ask
Are your technicians licensed and insured?
Each technician is an independent business and holds whatever licenses and insurance apply to them. We do not claim those credentials for ourselves. Ask the technician to confirm what they hold before work begins.
Are you affiliated with any appliance manufacturer?
No. Brand names are mentioned only to describe the appliances people ask about.
How do you make money?
We may receive a referral fee from the independent technicians we connect you with. It does not change the price they quote you.
